Sahara Camel Ride

crossing Morocco's largest sand desert Erg Chebbi on a slow camel back

Location:

Merzouga, Morocco

Duration:

Sunday, February 26, 2017

Personal highlights

  1. Erg Chebbi: largest stripe of lovely orange sand dunes, easily crossed in 2 hours
  2. Merzouga: one of the most touristic cities in Southern Morocco, just to ride a camel
  3. Dunes: sand as far as you can see, yet sadly littered with plastic bottles and bags
  4. Camels: beautifully and tame animals, carrying people and bags across the desert
  5. Package: crossing the desert twice and staying at a tent camp on the other side
  6. Algeria: seeing across the closed border in the distance from the high dunes
