Although this country doesn’t have the highest mountains, it’s an amazing green landscape with natural vegetation covering 93.1% of the country.

Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park is one of the only places where you can see the European Bison.

Belarus doesn’t have any high mountains, but that doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy some picturesque landscapes and breathtaking nature. 

Someplace you should definitely visit is the Braslav Lake Area which is an area famous for its magnificent landscapes left by an ancient glacier. There are about 300 lakes of different sizes and forms, getting the name “the blue necklace” of Belarus. The beauty of this place is so amazing, that every time you visit it, you see something new.

Another national park is the well-known Belovezhskaya National Park, which is famous for its beautiful landscapes and different flora and fauna. 

The European Bison is the main tourist attraction here, and this is one of the only places where you can see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Apart from these, there are also at least 55 different mammal species, from deer to boar, wild horse and many more.

You thought that this was all? Well no! There is yet another national park in Belarus, known as the Pripyatsky National Park, which is famous for the untouched marshes and swamplands as well as a different species of birds, plants, and mammals inside the park.

Mir Castle is a beautiful example of Gothic,Baroque and Renaissance architectural influences.

Although small, this country has a vibrant history, with buildings characterized by some of the most interesting architecture. 

One place that you can visit is the Mir Castle which is an incredible 16th-century castle with an amazing Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture. 

Apart from this, you can also find a Renaissance garden, an English park, and a pond. Therefore, if you want to see some remarkable architecture set off to see this amazing castle.

However, the most important historical site in all of Belarus is the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. This complex is dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The interesting thing about this complex is its shape, which takes the form of a star. 

Inside this fortress is a museum which you can visit if you want to learn the story of the war and what went down inside these stone walls.

If you like fortresses and castles, then you can also visit the Lida Castle, which is a 14th-century castle, as well as the Old Grodno Castle which features an intact stone arch bridge.

Then again if you love museums, you can also visit the Brest Railway Museum, where you can see different trains from various periods of time.

You can also visit the Stalin Line Museum which shows some tanks, missiles, helicopters, etc. Another museum is the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle as well as the Belarusian State Art Museum.

Meet the people of Belarus

Once they get to know you, people of Belarus can be one of the nicest and warmest people out there.

The largest ethnic group in Belarus are Belarusians with 83.7%, followed by Russian with 8.3%, Polish with 3.1%, and Ukrainian with 1.7%. 

The official language is Belarusian while you can also find the Russian language being spoken in this country. 

The people of Belarus are known to be one of the nicest and kindest people out there, who aren’t really interested in foreigners. They are actually really close to their family and friends, and people they know.
